Time Management and Parenting: Shoes for a Fat-Footed 6 Year Old



Ah, life can be difficult to

for 6 years of age who can not handle the ultra-cool looking shoes that are all his friends can handle.

You know the ones ... one light and have an absolute nice designs on them.

Life would be so perfect ... or at least much better ... If you could only wear those cool shoes.

Why should patiently explain to his mom ... who should know all this stuff?

Meet Jeremiah ...

who is 6 years old, in kindergarten, suffers from asthma, has a very fat legs straight and the other is my grandson was born.

Shopping for shoes has become an absolute headache for his mom.

I mean, not that I was doing something wrong. He just wanted to cool shoes ... not ugly ones. Mom will show this couple or that one, but his little heart set on a light to those that only knew make him fly around the pitch.

Any other pair of injured legs, but great shoes ... even if they are two sizes too small ... Well, they felt ok.

Subsequently, in a few weeks mom would come back to buy him new shoes because they cried that they hurt your feet.

the mother is a parent of two non-traditional students and she really did not have time, patience, money or inclination to continue to shoe shopping for Jeremiah, just because you had to have a certain pair of shoes and even lied to get them .

She's at the end of my rope.

It was a fool to save

of mom ... not Jeremiah. Fool (I) is more like an exercise boot camp sergeant who does not understand or care about, what other kids wear.

I am a no-nonsense, no fluff, and Jeremiah was not quite figured out how to get around me yet. (Actually, there is all around me ... I hate shopping with a passion, and I am on search and destroy mission. I want to get done !)

So here's what we do ...

through trial and error, we realized Sears has the best selection of wide shoes for children. When I take him in search of shoes we just go to Sears, and we just look at the wide shoe!

I have to show what he has to choose from, and he only chooses one of them. No looking at and trying on shoes that I know is not going to stop him. Moreover, since he is still learning to tie your shoes (and needs practice) we just got lace-up shoes.

Generally, with these criteria, he would have probably 5 or 6 different pairs of shoes to choose from.

then we are talking about how he loves a clean looking shoe. So it will voluntarily return any that are even close to being white.

This is when he puts on every pair of shoes, and runs really fast around the aisles until he came to the top 2 pair of shoes. Then they will put one of each pair on each leg to realize the absolute best pair.
